Directions
Shake well. Mist Selkie onto either damp or dry hair. Gently detangle first with the fingers, then with a wide-toothed comb, starting at the ends of the hair.

I was super excited that Eventide become a fragrance on its own because its just that amazing. I also appreciate the eco friendly refills and packaging. My only suggestion might be to offer replacement pumps for the sprayer for the bottle in case it jams up etc. that’s been my only issue.

My tangle prone, thigh length, fine hair is never perfectly detangled, but this product does more than any other to keep the tangles manageable and my hair feels so soft and moisturized after using it. Many tangles fall apart or are far more easily manipulated when I use Selkie daily. Most detanglers and leave ins make my hair feel sticky and cause me to accumulate more tangles, but this detangler never causes me that issue. My hair just soaks it up and feels so soft. I’m glad to have added this product to my routine. It helps me not lose my mind combing my hair.

I went without Selkie for a few weeks and I felt it, haha. I’ve stated in a previous review that this does not equate to a “leave-in conditioner”, but it definitely adds something more than misting with straight water and I never have to worry about over doing it. I have fine wavy-ish hair that I henna anywhere between 6-10 weeks (to my shame lol). I have gone months (actually years) with almost nothing but shampoo, conditioner, and Selkie so I know that it’s worth its salt (or spray… sorry, couldn’t help it). LOVE LOVE LOVE Selkie detangler!
My daughter has very fine, wavy hair that easily ties itself into knots. This has been our favorite spray to help with the slip while combing out her hair. Since her hair is so fine we cut the Selkie with distilled water to about 1oz water to 3oz Selkie. Straight Selkie weighed her hair down.
I, on the other hand, use it straight. I have medium strands that are curly. I use it as a leave in conditioner and refresh spray.

I knew this was something I needed along with the bar shampoo and conditioner. In the past, detanglers flattened my fine hair and would build up. Using the shampoo and conditioner bars allowed me to not even need it immediately after showering, which is a first! Second time purchasing; It’s a pretty good detangler after washing hair; doesn’t weight the hair down and smells very pleasant – though, if I’d realized how amazing the shampoo, conditioner bar, and salve were, I may have held off on the refill for this. I find I don’t have to use it even half as much as before (and my hair is extremely damaged). I’ve wound up using it on non-wash days, instead. The bottom 1/3 of my hair is exceptionally damaged/fragile and gets dry and velcro-like pretty fast. Misting with this, followed with the healing salve brings the hair back to happy condition, without having to completely wet down all my hair for a conditioner-only session.

I bought this product the first time it was available on etsy many years ago and has been one of the best products ever.
The smell is lovely – sweet and fruity and not overwhelming in any way; very light and neat. It gives a great condition to my hair, without feeling too heavy. I also use this on my daughters fine, but stubborn hair. When I use it in combination with the shampoo bar and the conditioner, her hair has an amazing shine and feels incredible soft.

This quickly detangled my fragile, previously mat-prone hair. I’ve never used anything like this. It was a real lifesaver after I hennaed my 25 inch long mane. I can’t remember if I’ve ever been able to just open up my bun and let it fall down, tangle free, like this.
One suggestion: I have chemical sensitivities and am so far able to tolerate the essential oils in this. The smell is amazing and I really love it. But… I do wonder if, over time, I won’t tolerate this much fragrance as well. I’m pretty sure those who are more sensitive than me might not be able to use it. A version with no extra scent in it would be ideal, as an option for those of us with this issue.

I’ve been using Selkie for a couple of months now. My favorite way to use it: finger detangle and then spritz a bit on my hair’s mids and ends at night, gently comb through, then braid up for sleep and pop a silk cap on. In the morning: hydrated, silky, wavy hair that needs NO heat. I love the scent and the recyclable materials. And as far as preserving your hair’s “just-washed” shine, this is unbeatable.

Desert-island holy grail hair product for me. I have very long, straight, fine-to-medium hair. I have used Selkie for years and years, and no other detangler does it for me. I use this on slightly damp hair, and it really does a fantastic job keeping my hair smooth and soft.
Whenever I do an herbal mud treatment, like henna or cassia, I always add a few tablespoons of this into my mix and it really improves the consistency.
On my husband’s 3B/3C hair, it keeps his curls soft, bouncy, and hydrated without weighing them down.
It’s a real workhorse of a product, well worth the money.

This detangler is the frizz whisperer lol. I have 2a-b/C/iii hair, and the top canopy of my hair has always struggled with frizziness, especially during hot and humid summers like this year’s.
